December's Turquoise

Turquoise is the birthstone for the month of December, which is just right around the corner! These four Etsy shops all have items to honor those Sagittarians born in this month.

Absolutely Kismet has a gorgeous turquoise beaded bracelet!  Turquoise was a symbol of wealth in many ancient cultures.  It was mined over 6000 years ago in Sinai. The ancient Egyptions used the stone in jewelry.  It is believed to give the owner strength, protect him/her from harm, and give the wearer a connection to the spirit world.

BESTeam Feature - The Old & The New

Time for another BESTeam feature!  This week's theme is the old & the new; starring three of the "older" members  - not old in age but those who have been with our team longer and one of our newest members. Joyflower recently joined our team. Her etsy shop has a variety of beautiful hand painted silk, which are truly works of art!  She finds her inspiration from the seasonal trends and fashion.  Living in the Pacific Northwest keeps her creativity flowing.
Brown Snowflake Jasper Sterling Silver Hoop Earrings
Let's match her scarves with the jewelry from  CK Silver and Beader Bubbe, Poison Garden, three members who have been with the BESTeam for awhile.

CK Silver has stunning jewelry made with silver, gem stones, pearls, and birthstones. These Brown Snowflake Jasper Earrings would look fab with this    Amber Hand Painted Silk Ruana.

Sneak Peek!

I have had a busy day creating some more pieces!  Here's a little preview:

Midnight Owl - little owl jewelry is so popular right now!  I couldn't resist these little creatures!

A great necklace for Fall or for those who love neutral colors!

Dzi Beads from Tibet mixed with bone, coral, and silver toned spacers. A great tribal/ethnic bracelet.  Tribal pieces are also quite popular these days.

Another owl charm necklace with orange jade.

Burmese orange jade bracelet - I purchased the jade in Yangon.
I love those little owl charms that I found in one of the local markets!  I have more ideas than owls at this time.  These items will soon be listed on etsy!  Thanks looking and please stop by my shop to check out all my latest listings.

Memories- BESTeam Feature

Misty watercolor memories - all those stored past events that we keep in the back of our minds...links to our history and the important events that helped us become who we are today and often shape our actions for the future.

Of course, this theme triggers Barbra Streisand singing:
"Memories
Light the corners of my mind
Misty watercolor memories
Of the way we were
Scattered pictures
Of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were

Can it be that it was all so simple then
Or has time rewritten every line
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me - Would we? Could we?

Memories
May be beautiful and yet
What's too painful to remember
We simply choose to forget

So it's the laughter
We will remember
Whenever we remember
The way we were."

Memories from the past:
Some of Riorita's exquisite jewelry designs are inspired by ancient ethnic styles from eras long ago. Using gold and silver, she transforms tribal patterns into modern works of art.
